The Thought of You - by Noctuary

return to Noctuary's poetry index

I can't sleep
I thought when you were gone,
you'd finally be gone.
But you live behind my eyes,
under my skin.
My chair hold your arms
that bend me to write this.
The color of the sky
tells me I am without you.
I try hard to stay in the shadows.
Afraid I'd drown myself in still waters.
I am my own anchor
I am the water I swallow.
