Writing History:
My first adventure in writing was when I was 14. I had a lot
of time on my hands and I needed to do something to keep my mind busy. I
started writing what I planned to be a series of books called Human
Blood. I had a rough draft written of the first one, which was
only 46 pages. Down the road I looked back at that after years
of being distracted. I decided to take a shot at re-writing it
since I had grown a lot as a writer. When rewriting the first
line how I imagined it, it turned from six words into over 50. That
startled me a lot. Not because of how much detail I was able
to put into it based on remembering what I saw in my head, but because
there was so much depth I want to add to the characters and the storyline. I
know if I sit down and rewrite that book (one of seven), it is going
to turn out to be considerably larger than 46 pages.
My first noteable
poem was written after a breakup with my 2nd girlfriend. After
that I started writing any time I needed to get things out. I
categorized everything I first wrote poetry wise as the "Blue Book." There
was a point that marked a turn of events, at which I broke off and
started adding all new poetry to what was called the "Red Book." There
was no real point in time when I decided to put an end to the Red
Book and start adding new poetry into the "Black Book." Currently,
all new poetry is being included in the Black Book.
I didn't really
start writing in abstract until recently.
