Born in a small town in Sweden, and raised on books as much as my mother's milk,
words and imagination have always been a big part of my life. I've written stories
for as long as I can remember, mostly in my head, but on paper as well. For just
as long though, I've had a tendency to not finish what I've started as I often
bite off more than I can chew. My great projects would turn into nothing.
In my teens, however, I turned to poetry. I like the freedom in language, length
and form when I write, the way I can play around with words and make them mine.
I'll let the words lead me, and for better or worse I rarely do any refining
after the first draft. When I start reworking a poem, that's when the problems
start.
Some months ago I started writing in English as well, as I feel the English language
is sometimes a better tool for what I want to express. As it's not my first language,
I'll occasionally mess up the grammar and spelling. But hey, it's a free form
of writing to start with, right? Around the same time, I started translating
older poems to see what would happen to them, as an experiment, and to share
with friends. For any translated poem here, the Swedish original can be found
as well, for those interested.
I also write shortstories when I feel inspired. Maybe some of them will see the
light of day here.
